Grant, oh, GOD, that we may be
Parents pleasing unto Thee:
Give us patience with childish ways,
Remind us to give our children praise,

Help us to listen, as we'd have them do,
Let us teach the value of being true;
May politeness and laughter be a part of each day,
And love and obedience lighten our way.
~
Let us not be too busy to show them we care,
And the blessing of a family may we thankfully share.
Give all parents knowledge that they may impart
Into each and every childish heart.
~
A loving of learning, a longing to know,
A satisfaction with which to grow.
And finally, oh, GOD, may we all know the joy
And reward of loving a girl or a boy!
