Dear Friends,

We are finally getting to our list of H.E.A.R.T volunteers! If you remember at the Keith Deltano parent session, you signed up to find out more about volunteering for H.E.A.R.T.

This past year has been a good one. The Milligan’s have had a new baby and we have a grandbaby and another on the way, so home has kept us busy. We are back to planning for the upcoming year for H.E.A.R.T.

This month of August will be filled with media campaign. We are working on getting abstinence posters in the schools, getting PSA spots on local TV channels during prime time, on Channel 6, and also radio spots on abstinence. We also are checking on getting a billboard locally. If anyone knows of how to get that accomplished let us know. We have tried contacting Lamar but they have not gotten back with us. We plan to have another appearance on "Here at Home" with Susan Dumas on MCC6.

We are now working on getting another abstinence speaker for the spring semester for SCCSD, Sacred Heart, Nemo Vista and Wonderview. We are shooting for setting this up right before prom. This is a project we will need some help with.

We also want to try to set up as many parent/teen presentations as possible-civic groups, churches, etc. So if any of you want us to present to your group, please contact us through my email address.

The Milligan’s will be attending a regional conference on abstinence this fall in San Antonio put on by the Medical Institute for Sexual Health. We hope to get the most up to date materials and this conference will help us with that goal.
